Recently, when I was browsing the web, I found a wonderful Etsy artist, Tsuru Bride. This lovely shop has detailed clutches, change purses, business card holders, iPod holders etc. in her shop that I find intriguing. As I was reading her blog, she had posted about a contest she was doing where ordinary people could post ideas for new items she would make and post in her Etsy shop. Since I love hedgehogs so much, I decided to make a simple sketch of one and post it. Here is my submission to the contest. Enjoy.

I've Been Tagged!

I have been tagged by the wonderful CrankHeartPony to share 7 things about myself. These things can consist of random and weird facts about me. So, without going any further, here they are.

1) I am the type of person that will go out of her way to procrastinate. Yes, I said procrastinate. Since I am currently a full-time student that holds two part-time jobs and wants to be crafty, I must come up with some time to keep myself sane.

2) I enjoy collecting things. I have a small postcard collection and a very large button collection. I like buttons that come from different eras. Most of them are vintage, but I also have some newer ones. Lately the addiction has been buying them via the Internet.

3) I am adventurous and outgoing. I met my boyfriend on the Internet one night while I was browsing a message board. We have now been together for about 3 years.

4) I enjoy spending my time knitting and crocheting things. (I am currently working on a small octopus and will post pictures once he is finished.)

5) I have a strange fettish for small animals. I want a owl (to live in my backyard) and a hedgehog (to play with).

6) I am currently taking the Microsoft Office classes so that I can become certified to use all of the programs. As of right now I am Word certified.

7) With rain hitting my bedroom window, I love to curl up on my bed with a hot cup of tea and a good book. (Suggestions are appreciated! A love story. What?!)

I hope you learned something new about me and are enjoying my blog at the same time. Number one explains why I do not post very often.

The Icing On The Cake...

There are two special people in my life that I decided to make a cake for. A while back I bought a Hershey's antique cook book. It had this amazing looking cake in it and I decided to attempt to make it. I think it ended up turning out ok. Here is the end result.

On another note, I received my buttons but haven't decided what I am going to do with them yet. I will be sure to post that when I do know.

New Beginnings

Since I am of the crafty type, I thought it might be fun to blog about the things I enjoy doing the most.  I just purchased some beautiful vintage buttons from evanrhett.  Hopefully they will arrive shortly.  I will let you know what I end up doing with them.
